Live Performance Adaptation 2017
Orient Express as a period stylized piece for theatre. A mystery piece that involves twelve suspects, one detective, and of course, one murder, adapting the piece for theatre necessitates locating it in an enclosed space. This is to mirror the actual circumstances of the train compartment – it’s shut down, and isolated.. No one inside can go out, and no one can come in from the outside. With this intention in mind, I’d like to set the play in an abandoned train station, or if I have to look closer to LA, in the Santa Monica airport’s airplane hangar.
